Curso de Línguas e Cultura Tupi-Guarani, RJ.

Atualmente há aproximadamente 240 povos indígenas distribuídos em todo o território nacional, a maioria na Região Norte. São cerca de 180 línguas indígenas brasileiras.
No universo das línguas indígenas, reconhece-se a existência de dois grandes troncos:
o Tupi e o Macro Jê.

A proposta do curso é ensinar de forma simples e objetiva a cultura e a língua do tronco Tupi-Guarani, que tem o maior número de falantes indígenas do Brasil, a diversidade cultural, a estrutura da língua Tupi . Conhecer onde ela está presente na língua portuguesa e em outras famílias Guarani na geografia do Brasil.

Pedido de socorro pela preservação das línguas indígenas

Evento em SP discute a provável morte de metade dos idiomas do Brasil

Além do português, falam-se no território brasileiro mais de 160 idiomas diferentes, como guarani m’byá, wapixána, mawayana, nheengatú, carnijó, kaxariri, apinajé, xavante, yanomami e kuikuro.

No mundo, especialistas estimam que existam hoje mais de 6.500 línguas. No entanto, um número significativo delas está em vias de desaparecer. Preservar a pluralidade linguística é também salvar uma cultura, um conjunto de conhecimento acumulado ao longo de décadas ou séculos e a identidade de um povo, asseguram especialistas em linguística que se reuniram entre domingo e segunda-feira no Museu da Língua Portuguesa em São Paulo, para participar do II Seminário Global sobre Diversidade Linguística, Globalização e Desenvolvimento, uma iniciativa da Unesco, em parceria com a Fundação Roberto Marinho e a Casa das Línguas (Linguamón) da Catalunha.

“A taxa de mortalidade das línguas está aumentando, e prevê-se que no século XXI metade das línguas faladas no mundo desapareça. Nossa identidade está no idioma que falamos. A morte de uma língua é, portanto, a morte de parte do legado cultural da Humanidade”, afirma o linguista brasileiro Ataliba Teixeira de Castilho.

Barbie celebra 50 anos vestindo burca

Em comemoraçao aos 50 anos da Barbie, uma exibiçao mostrou a boneca em trajes multiculturais, incluindo uma versao com a vestimenta típica das seguidoras do islamismo - a burca. Apoiado pela fabricante Mattel, o evento trouxe uma coleçao de mais de 500 Barbies que foram leiloadas pela Sotheby's em Florença, na Itália. Burka Barbie: famous doll gets a makeover

Barbie, the iconic plastic doll, is famed for her glamorous clothes and pneumatic figure – but that tradition has been turned on its head with the introduction of a new burka-clad model.

The look is part of an exhibition, backed by Barbie creator Mattel, of the doll in multicultural outfits by Italian designer Eliana Lorena.

Two of the Barbies are wearing the burka, the loose fitting robe with veiled holes for the eyes which is worn by some Muslim women.

The collection of more than 500 Barbies is being sold at a Sotheby's charity auction in Florence, Italy, in aid of Save The Children.

The sale is part of Barbie celebrations for her 50th anniversary this year.

Britain's biggest Barbie collector Angela Ellis, 35, who owns more than 250 dolls, said: "I think this is really important for girls, wherever they are from they should have the opportunity to play with a Barbie that they feel represents them.

"I Know Barbie was something seen as bad before as an image for girls, but in actual fact the message with Barbie for women is you can be whatever you want to be.

"I like the 70s, 80s and 90s ones that have reflected my life and I picked the really outstanding ones, the really different ones that have a message for my collection.

"I have a Barbie in a wheelchair that was only out for six weeks."

Rosie Shannon, from Save the Children, said: "We are delighted Sotheby's and the designer chose to auction the burka Barbie dolls for our charity.

"Save the Children is committed to helping children worldwide.

"One of the Barbies being auctioned wears a ring made by Italian jewellers Bulgari who are working in partnership with Save the Children.

"The money raised will also help children get back to school."

The money goes toward the Rewrite the Future campaign which helps millions of children around the world effected by conflict.

Barbie was first launched in March 1959 by American businesswoman Ruth Handler. The doll was joined by her long-term boyfriend Ken in 1961.
